Prague Pride association has been strongly affected by the coronavirus situation, same as other organizations. After gathering and movement of people had been restricted, we have cancelled some small events and decided to postpone the bigger ones. We have been also thinking about new formats for events held in the times of pandemics. Well-being of the public and our own team is a priority for us. Yet we keep working.

What is our situation right now?

Our office is open again from 4 May under strict hygienic conditions. The office can be used only by people from Prague Pride team, we don't allow other organizations to have meetins in our office yet. During March and April, the office was closed and our team worked remotely.

In May, Find Your True Colours coming out support group will start to meet again. Their March and April meetings were cancelled due to the coronavirus. There is a small number of persosn in the group and their meeting complies with current coronavirus-related rules.  

Fun&Run moved to 6 September 2020

Fun&Run, the charity run against homophobia could not be held on 17 May as originally planned. We have decided to postpone the run to 6 September 2020. Everything else except the date remains the same - the event will take place in Yellow Spa (Žluté lázně) , online registration is open, registration fee is 400 CZK every month till the day of the event. The fee won't rise every month as originally planned. We don’t want you to feel under pressure to register now. Lower registration fee means lower proceeds that will be used to support LGBT peer-to-peer mentoring website Sbarvouven.cz and the House of Light for HIV+ clients. However we feel fair treatment is important at this moment. The fee for on-the-spot registration on the day of the event in Yellow Spa remains 500 CZK.

The date for Prague Pride festival remains 3 - 6 August 2020

Many prides around the world have already been cancelled. Compared to those that happen during June the Pride month, Prague Pride has an advantage of a later term. We have decided that Prague Pride 2020 will happen in the originally scheduled week of 3 - 9 August. The question is in which form. We have been discusssing difrerent possibilities and observing development of the situation. Follow our FB event Prague Pride Festival 2020 (official event), more information will come. 

Events that don't have a date yet

FILIP20, a Saturday afternoon meeting for queer teenagers originally planned for 4 April will be rescheduled for the beginning of a new school year. We will announce a new date as soon as we have it confirmed.

Pride Business Forum annual conference planned for June will be rescheduled, too. Attendance of international diversity and inclusion champions is crutial for this event. That is why we have been waiting for reliable information concerning rules for international travel. We expect that the conference will take place in the second half of autumn, the date is yet to be announced. Meanwhile, companies can submit their application forms for LGBT Friendly Employer and pride Business Forum Heroes awards.
